While the exact causes of high-speed fatalities rely on too many variables, I think we can safely conclude that the kind of arrogant recklessness that categorizes high-speed drivers on public roads needs external moderation. And not for them (hey, they can crash and burn and speed when only their lives are at risk), but for the others who would simply like to move from point a to point b without unnecessary life-threatening risk.
