What do I lose with the shutdown?

1. A government shutdown would not affect the intelligence services; they're considered essential.

2. Nor would it affect Congress, which is a great place to find contempt for people.

3. It would, however, cost billions of dollars relative to continuing to operate, so even if you believe that the government "wastes money" a shutdown would be relatively more wasteful.

@Anon -- Useful reality check, but it was mostly tongue in cheek. Now, I await the debate over what government SHOULD be doing with our money.
