1080 Poison is there to kill possums, another amazingly destructive invasive species. Locals don't like 1080 (big government), but scientists say that the possums are a real pest and the poison is "safe."

Wait, they poison a large mammal to death through the water, and then tell humans that its okay to drink?

@JOsh -- no, the poison is in pellets that sometimes dissolve in water, that they THEN say is safe to drink. Totally different :)
